It was crossbred on a North Dakota farm over 30 years ago by David Podoll from a smaller Early Canada variety & the larger Black Diamond variety, yielding a medium sized juicy pink-fleshed watermelon that ranges from 12-18 lb.It is adaptable to fluctuating weather conditions especially to cold influx, so don’t be afraid to let it mature on the vine into the early fall.
